Lisa A. Cummings serves as Attorney and Executive Vice President at Cummings & Cummings Law. Her distinguished legal career spans more than five decades across numerous industries, with leadership roles at globally recognized companies such as Halliburton, Dell Technologies, Mercer, Walmart, Kerr-McGee (now Occidental Petroleum), Cadbury Schweppes (now Keurig Dr Pepper), Plains Capital Bank, Chesapeake Energy, Hertz, Michaels Stores, and Cityblock Health. She has built a reputation for excellence in legal counsel, human capital strategy, and executive compensation.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Juris Doctor, both with honors, from the University of Oklahoma. She is a licensed attorney and member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, with a practice emphasis on ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, executive compensation, employee benefits, and complex employment law. In her current capacity, she advises clients across the United States and globally on matters of federal law and multi-state compliance.

In addition to her legal practice, Lisa has held executive roles in total rewards and human resources. As Senior Vice President at Cityblock Health and Hertz, and as Vice President at Michaels Stores, Plains Capital Corporation, and MoneyGram International, she has led initiatives involving HRIS implementation, budget forecasting, global benefits design, 409A compliance, and the development of strategic compensation structures. Her work regularly intersected with board-level governance and regulatory compliance, including proxy disclosures and SEC-mandated filings.

Her leadership in total rewards also includes overseeing compensation and benefits programs for thousands of employees across North and South America, managing assets exceeding $500 million, and coordinating mergers and acquisitions from a human capital integration perspective. She has introduced cutting-edge tools such as total rewards portals, data analytics platforms, and scalable systems to enhance employee engagement and reduce administrative errors.

Lisa continues to shape the future of the profession through her service on the Board of Directors for the SouthWest Benefits Association and as an adjunct professor in the University of Oklahoma’s Masters in Human Resources program, where she teaches compensation and benefits. Her teaching reflects her commitment to mentoring the next generation of HR professionals and legal advisors, drawing from decades of practical, enterprise-level experience.

Dividing her time between Bonita Springs, Florida and Dallas, Texas, Lisa advises clients operating at national and international levels. Her expertise in regulatory compliance, executive pay design, and benefit governance makes her an invaluable strategic partner to corporations navigating the increasingly complex landscape of employment law and total rewards.

Lisa’s work has been featured in several publications over the decades, and she is a member of many industry working groups, associations, and boards.
